Graphic Designer Perpetual Gomes is under the BananaBandy Spotlight
Her beginnings
Perputual Gomes was attracted towards art from a very young age as she started sketching from the age of 4. She never stopped and it grew into a stress busting activity for her and became part of her daily life. She pursued her bachelors in management studies but she didn’t give up on her artwork, and that’s how she got her first opportunity:
I was noticed and was offered my first job in design as a comic illustrator at the age of 18. Ive been a Youth brand ambassador with Adidas originals for street art. I have given doodle workshops at phoenix mills.so its been a crazy ride…still is.
Her greatest achievement
Perpetual Gomes is currently employed as a senior graphic designer at Viiking Ventures Pvt Ltd, where she works on visualising and creating designs and concepts for brands like Kings Beer, Goa Beer, The Beatles Hotel, Viiking Trance, Big Brother Foundation, etc for digital media platforms. She also creates communicative design, magazines, outdoor advertising, book covers, album covers, restaurant menus, food labels, billboards, clothing and more under her own brand called as PepzArt Studios. Here’s what she has to say when it comes to her greatest achievement:
My greatest achievement would be getting noticed by my favorite Artist Dan Chase from the UK. I followed his work for 8 years. And he messaged me after that. He appreciated my work and has always guided me since then. If I need help in anything he is always there to guide me. A message away. He also sent me his art prints as a birthday gift 😀
Perpetual Gomes’ two favourite projects on BananaBandy are masks by Kanika Sethi and the Cities series by Shiv Moulee. She has been working on her own comics. This is her latest project and it’s titled “The Lazy Cupid”. It’s about Love, Friendship and Life and gives the audience a peek into her life.
It is very important to love and feel what you do. Maybe that’s the only thing I like about my work. I have all my emotions attached to it. I don’t take it as a job that has to be done.
