How were you introduced to BananaBandy and what do you like the most about it?
I received a mail from the BananaBandy team and I immediately got interested in it since it is a homegrown community of creatives focused on providing a better platform for Indian designers and artists.
What I like most about BananaBandy is that I am sure that it will lead to a lot of fruitful collaborations between artists and will give greater power and options to the average creative professional in the coming years.
- What are you working on at the moment?
Currently I am working on a set of DIY projects.
- Where do you gather the inspiration for your works?
I gather the inspiration for my works from everyday life. I cannot create something which I cannot relate to. The best inspirations are often the simplest of things.
- What is your preferred medium and why?
Undoubtedly, paper it is!
As a flexible medium, paper allows me to cut, fold, paste and create the most delicate yet durable products. The traditional method of creating something with hands, having various materials spread around, getting dirty with glue and the will to see something productive and innovative coming up keeps me going.
Though, lately I have started growing fond of sunboard.
- What are you doing when you’re not creating?
I like to relax by listening to music while out on a walk. I also like to watch movies and play sports with my friends. Though most of all you’ll always find me daydreaming.
Follow your heart and do what you love.
- Do you have a fun story or an experience involving your artwork?
Hahaha… Yes.
Once we had guests at our place and just around that time my work was featured in one of the leading magazines in the country(it was my first feature ever).
Excited, I showed them the article. I also showed them the original artwork kept in the showcase of our drawing room. Their reaction was “Haan, same magazine jaisa banaya hai.” 😛
- What are your goals for the future, in terms of both work and life?
Work – To setup an era of tactile projects in India.
Life – To travel worldwide with my friends.
- Do you have any tips for the budding artists in our community?
The most important thing is to follow your heart and do what you really want to do. And, don’t do it for the money. If you love what you do, it will reflect in your work and eventually you’ll have money following you wherever you go.
