Not just a digital artist!

What project of yours is particularly memorable to you?

While it is somewhat difficult to give a detailed view on every project I have uploaded. One of them is “Project Cirrus: The Artbook”. I started painting over hundreds of traditional pages, grew unsatisfied, made hundreds more digitally, grew unsatisfied again! And I redid it over and over, till I could finally publish it.

Which artists’ work do you especially admire?

Mukesh Singh, Miles Johnston, James Jean, Ruan Jia- I could go on. I do however love works which are unique, something that speaks to me, and captures attention, and of course- highly skilled, and they have all of those qualities.

What about the influence of anime in your artwork?

I started painting when I was 11, I was inspired from this anime named Inu Yasha, the other anime that inspired me was Jigoku Shoujo. My work back then was far more anime influenced than it is now, it has trended towards semi-realistic in the recent days.

If you could claim that any one artwork in the world was yours, what would it be?

Anything made by Mukesh Singh.

Mukesh Singh is an Indian comic book artist, known for working with various international comics book companies like Liquid Comics and Marvel comics.

Have you ever stepped out of your zone and tried out a completely new creative field?

I experiment a lot with colours, switch between semi realistic to realistic often. I practice different styles in my sketchbook from time to time.

As to getting into a totally different creative field, I turn myself into comic/anime characters or into paintings from time to time. And the first time I ever posted about it on my page, I got featured on Buzzfeed a few days later. I’d say it felt like I entered a new world. Definitely would recommend going out of the usual from time to time.

What would you like to say to ‘all the haters’?

I don’t remember having haters, but if I do- I don’t like hating on the haters, it’s a waste of time, just improve yourself during the time they keep hating on you. It’s their loss.
