When we began to gain great artists on our platform, we started hearing from brands we were already engaging with. They really liked the work of these artists. They thought it would add more value to their brands and wanted to work with these artists directly. We thought this was an interesting idea and that we should do something to facilitate these desired interactions.

The main challenge was keeping it together and not falling apart.
Something that we also realised is that most artists work alone and don’t get a lot of opportunities to collaborate with other artists on projects. Our goal became to cater to these artists in a way that allows them to work with brands and maybe even collaborate with other artists in an organised, transparent and sustainable way.
So how does this relate to freelance graphic design jobs?
Proxy offers opportunities to artists with other skills as well as those looking for freelance graphic design jobs.
The thing about graphic design is that there are different designers with different specialisations. We have Branding, UI/UX Design, Illustration and 3D Art & Design as the main categories for freelance graphic designers. Depending on the requirements of a client, we could have multiple artists from these fields collaborating on a single project or a single designer delivering on a single freelance graphic design job.
What’s required from a freelance graphic designer who wants to be on Proxy?
Your profile needs to stand out from the rest. From the existing designers on our platform, we only handpicked the ones whose work made exceptional impressions upon us. We also wanted artists who had worked with brands in the past and hence, are experienced individuals in the creative industry. This makes them reliable and thereby credible to us and therefore, our clients too.

We want people who have done work at this level.
The other things we need from our artists is the ability to create multiple collaterals for a brand within their skillset. This demonstrates versatility and variety. This tends to happen by default if an artist has worked with large brands as well as some small brands in the past.
Availability of time is another thing we consider when offering freelance graphic design jobs to the artists and designers on our platform.

Making something like this takes time so an artist needs to have sufficient time available.
This requires us to mediate and contact artists who suit a requirement. We need to know if they will have the availability to complete our freelance graphic design jobs along with their other work. Ideally, though, an artist should have 3 to 6 hours available to complete what we ask of them.
Wait, how does it work again? Also, why should an artist be on Proxy?

Short version: So that brands can work with top artists to create anything and everything they want to.
We review and shortlist a unique collective of highly talented creative professionals and showcase some of their stellar work on our platform. This makes it a one-stop shop for brand communication and marketing that needs to be worked on by some of the best creative talents in the country.
We assemble some of the most lucrative projects backed by reputed brands that constantly require high-quality work at effective delivery outputs. Great brands meet great talent on a standardised and yet, unique platform.
We meet the clients, understand the brief and accordingly connect them to the most suited creative individual from our talent pool for a given project. Our account managers are known for their diligence in adhering to deadlines while maintaining optimal quality standards.
We kick-start the project on our online collaboration tool where all project stakeholders can work together conveniently. Clients and designers can rely on our cloud-based technology & SAAS tools to access detailed reports of their projects at any point in time either from their laptop or mobile phone.
Another bonus for freelance artists and designers is that IndieFolio Proxy gains business for them and handles all the administrative and liaising work. We want brands and artists to focus on the core creative and leave the rest to us.
