On the occasion of International Artist Day we present the most popular artists on BananaBandy
Art has been an important part of the human experience since the earliest days of humanity. The first records of the world are not written in books but are captured in paintings. They help to paint a picture of world lost to the past. Whether it’s by giving us an insight into the lives of the people through their depiction in paintings or through the slight social comments hidden in some of the world’s most religious works, art can reveal a hidden or lost side of us to the present.
Yesterday, the 25th of October, was International Artist Day.This day was founded by Canadian Artist Chris MacClure to bring recognition to the world of art and to celebrate all the ways that artists bring their own special view to life. So today, we decided to showcase the 7 most popular artists on BananaBandy and some of their best works, albeit a day later (Yesterday, the BananaBandy team was too busy rooting for India in series decider!).
So, we present you the one’s from whom the brush is a part of their body, the one’s who create worlds out of canvas, the one’s who help us find reality or escape to a fantasy through paint; here are the seven most popular artists on BananaBandy.
The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.
The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web.
Painting is concerned with all the 10 attributes of sight; which are: Darkness, Light, Solidity and Colour, Form and Position, Distance and Propinquity, Motion and Rest.
I dream of painting and then I paint my dream.
Painting is a blind man’s profession. He paints not what he sees, but what he feels, what he tells himself about what he has seen.
Good painting is like good cooking; it can be tasted, but not explained.
A man paints with his brains and not with his hands.
Every child is an artist, the problem is staying an artist when you grow up.
Even though International Artist Day has passed doesn’t mean that you can’t celebrate it. Have you been looking for a piece of art that would liven up your hall or spice up your bedroom? Go out and purchase it, support the artists you admire by purchasing their works so that they can continue giving you their best. (The starving artist trope is not one that we encourage, we like our artists to be well fed)
Have you kept that masterpiece that you wanted to paint or have you bought a DSLR and then left it gathering dust. Why don’t you get it done? Unleash your inner artist, let him be free and he will give you endless joy. Stop procrastinating and go out and create something, after all, isn’t that what we live for?
