Ink drawing is the process of creating art using same or different coloured inks. The history of pen and ink drawings dates back to 300 CE in ancient Greek where artists inked their fine art drawings on papyrus using pen and dye. Over the years, this art form has evolved with the number and kinds of inks and papers available. While some use this method in their modern art, others still stick to the roots for a traditional touch. Here at IndieFolio, we celebrate this art technique during the well-known Inktober.

Like every year, this year too, Inktober witnessed a swarm of incredible ink drawings on IndieFolio. While it was difficult to pick out the best of the many creative illustrations, the following are a few of our favourites.

We hoped you liked this Inktober list. Some really great artists did their best with putting pen to paper and taking time out of their day to make this happen. If you didn’t participate this year, there’s always next year. A quick word of advice: keep yourself in good health to make it happen. It’s called a challenge because it will challenge you. Many artists struggle to be disciplined and find the time or effort to create something they are happy with. Remember that Inktober is not meant to be for your best work, it’s meant to be a way for artists to get better at what they do. If you can get organised, you can conquer this challenge.

This list was put together by Sienna Thibault. If you want to contact her for feedback, send her an email. If you feel like we missed some sweet Inktober art, leave us a comment.
