BananaBandy shines a spotlight on its top artists
We are charged with excitement as we bring to you the first spotlight list of 2016! These are the top 20 artists on BananaBandy for the months of January 2016 to March 2016. They were judged to be the best by both the community as well as our Spotlight Jury. So without much ado, let us present the newest generation of Spotlight Artists!
We start our list with a fine artist. Born and brought up in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. Achintya is a graduate in painting from College of Art, New Delhi. Have a look at his fantastic paintings and sketches which took him straight into the Spotlight.
2: Adarsh Paul
Animator extraordinaire Adarsh Paul is next on our list. A student of NID, his excellence is visible in his work be it illustration or stop-motion videos! Do check out Potli, one of the best stop-motion videos we’ve laid our eyes on!
Mumbai based photographer Aditya Patkar is one of the best eyes behind the lens on BananaBandy. From wacky conceptual photoshoots to brilliant interior photography, you’ll never find even a pixel out of place in his images!
Hailing from Kerala, Benjamin Kurien is a product and graphic designer to watch out for. His product design project, Mealrack was a space and time saving initiative for the Indian Railways.
5: Farah Ahmad
A final year animation student at NID. Farah Ahmad is all about the big screen. From creating amazing posters for her film club to her own short film, her BananaBandy portfolio displays her love for cinema.
6: Kedar Desai
Visualiser at Cocktail Art by day and hobbyist photographer by night. Kedar Desai lets in not only light but also emotion through his camera lens.
Aspiring 2D animator and graphic designer, Lopamudra Maiti has created some amazing work on BananaBandy. Her 21 days illustration series truly is a treat to the eyes!
Mazhar is a student of Visual Communication at MITID, Pune. He has created some really outstanding work on BananaBandy be it his branding projects on BATMAN!!! or his amazing architecture photographs.
A designer at heart with a background in Fine Arts, Melvin is one of the few who convey their thoughts through Art and Design.
10: Milind Shirsat
There are few words which describe Milind Shirsat’s photography apart from breath-taking! This Mumbai based photographer captures action and emotion with equal ease in his pictures.
11: Muhammed Sajid
This graphic designer and artist from Bengaluru loves to draw and lives to draw. Illustrations are his forte and you can see that in his gif animation filled project titled ‘Pets‘.
12: Niharika Shukla
Food photographer, food stylist and food reviewer; Niharika’s work revolves around culinary delights. Her food photography projects on BananaBandy will definitely get you drooling!
13: Rahul Parihar
A visual communication student from NID, Rahul calls himself a multidisciplinary digital creative offering a versatile but focused skill-set, a balance between creative and analytic qualities. He craves order, loves all things design, and seeks harmony in his work.
14: Raj Shekhar
A transportation designer, Raj Shekhar strongly believes design is a platform to work towards solutions that evolve our living standards and a create a much healthier planet to survive on.
15: Sagar Arankalle
A visual artist and illustrator from Noida, Sagar believes in creating a balance between realism and digital crafts in his work. Do check out his illustrations for Paperboat.
16: Sagar Kolwankar
Sagar Kolwankar is one of the artists who believes that pictures speak more than words (1000 times more in fact!) and who wouldn’t agree with him after viewing his predator vs prey series on BananaBandy!
17: Shikhar Shukla
Shikhar is an Indian fashion,portrait and advertising photographer based in Bangalore City. Do check out his charcoal series for some interesting monochrome photographs.
18: Shivangi Lahoty
A NIFT graduate and the founder of Inaaya, Shivangi Lahoty is already halfway down the ramp of the fashion industry! Her apparel collections don’t just look good but also tell a tale through their designs.
19: Urvashi Bhati
Urvashi is a Jaipur based Design Consultant. From hand made illustrations to posters to paintings to product design, her portfolio displays a vast variety of excellent work.
20: Vidhisha Kedia
An aspriring UI/UX designer from NICC Bengaluru, Vidisha shows incredible maturity and promise in her work. Have a look at her packaging project for Lijjat Papad.
Conclusion:
This wraps up our Spotlight List for the months of January 2016 – March 2016. We are grateful to all of them for posting their projects on BananaBandy and populating our community with their talent. It was a tremendous task to choose twenty from all of the other artists on BananaBandy and it gets harder and harder to do the same with each Spotlight list. What do you think of our list?
