In The Spotlight: January to March 2017

The Newest, the Most Creative, the 12 Artists in the Spotlight.

Turn on the lights. Cue the music. Keep your eyes on the stage (stage = this blog post), we’re lining up the latest artists who made the cut of our esteemed jury.

Who are these esteemed members of our jury? Let’s introduce them before we introduce the artists.

Sharon Borgoyary – Co-Founder and Creative Director, Animal, she has a great sense of design and will even be doing a MasterClass with IndieFolio on July 1st in New Delhi. As a Creative Director, she has a great eye for detail and understands the thought process that creatives use to create their work. Mariam Jamal – Senior Designer, The Minimalist, she looks for what’s missing as much as what’s there. The Minimalist is all about delivering messages with minimal elements. The founders of The Minimalist, Sahil Vaidya and Chirag Gander also held a MasterClass. The highlights of their event can be checked out here.

Bhavesh Bhati – Independent Director and IndieFolio Proxy artist, he has studied photography and visual communication. His work has been exhibited on both digital and print media. His work has been appreciated by brands like Paper Boat and Oriflame.

These talented people used their deep experience of design to select the designer dozen that make up our newest spotlight list. Here they are:

1. Kishore Ghosh

A lead concept artist, Kishore Ghosh creates illustrations and backgrounds for games, does fantastic digital illustrations and is good that half of his portfolio made it to our list of featured projects.

 

2. Lee Godfrey

Lee is a freelancer who creates amazing logos. Anyone who has desired a professional logo should design your logo, Check out his page and the mockups of his logos to see what we mean.

 

3. Mrunal Bhavsar

He’s the owner of pbnj studio and the package designs in his portfolio are the stuff of dreams. The way he handles branding and packaging is just perfect for giving products a premium feel.

 

4. Siddhi Surte

Her style certainly involves a hands-on approach. She is an illustrator who has made some cool comics and you can even check out some behind the scenes work on her first full-length graphic novel in her portfolio. A must-see is her comic series, Baba In The Clouds.

 

5. Rahul Gupta

Some of his work involves retouching photos and some of it involves creating food in 3D sculpting and modelling software. However, all of it is good. Go to his portfolio only if you had something to eat in the last 3 hours.

 

6. Sourabh Singh

A Freelance Game Designer/Concept Artist/ Illustrator who loves to speak his mind through art. Sourabh Singh has a varied skill-set and his variety is worth a look or two.

 

7. Akkta Panwar

Akkta is currently pursuing her Masters in Film, but she’s a writer at heart. Advertising Copywriting is where it began and has now expanded to writing screenplays along with branding and marketing content. She likes working on projects that involve writing, production design, filmmaking, photography, voice overs and practically anything that let’s her express her artistic nature.

 

8. Muskaan Vaish

She is blatantly honest and surreal. We aren’t sure what kind of experience this results in you meet her in person but if you’re into fashion, you will have a good experience with her work.

 

9. Punit Gor

Punit is an independent filmmaker who specializes in Animation. He has made award-winning short films and directed promos for clients like Disney UTV. He has also worked on various big brand commercials under the renowned, Vaibhav Kumaresh.

 

10. Rajdeep Chatterjee

 

A communication designer and a man with an understanding of graphic design from concept to final art, he understands layouts in relation to the context and the media used. There are so many styles he has on display that his portfolio will set a new bar for variety in creativity.

 

11. Saachi Mehta

With an inclination towards conceptually driven work, she explores the relevance of indigenous cultural identity in the contemporary world. She’s won a few awards for her work and she may win more so you can be sure her portfolio is one to follow.

 

12. Satheesh Sankaran

Satheesh is a visual storyteller. Once he starts looking deeper into a subject, it connects with him and he finds that everything in this universe has a story to tell. He uses words, designs and experiences to craft amazing stories for brands, organizations and people.
