Gridyy is a merchandise brand creating hand crafted and customized tea coasters, frames and candle holders founded by BananaBandy Spotlight Artist Shashank Nimkar. It is a great initiative and has tremendous potential to expand as they offer quality products which have an attractive design but are made of sturdy material in a manner that lends durability to their design as well.
Being a craft lover since the very beginning Shashank Nimkar, founder & designer of Gridyy, always found ways of making detailed handcrafted products which were one of-a-kind. While exploring one such idea earlier this year, Gridyy took its first form in Shashank’s mind as a concept of paper cut gifting frames. He designed a hand cut a complete collection featuring over a dozen unique designs.
The following few months were spent creating collections of original designs & conceptualizing existing products through an innovative sense of design. Each and every design is inspired the from elements of nature and day to day life and then converted into minimalist geometric shapes. These shapes with their colourful presentations stand out because of their unique identity.
Papercut Shadow frames were the primary products that were created but they decided to explore and see if there were new avenues in which they could launch their brand. With an explorer’s vision, Gridyy expanded its horizons & launched their collections in coasters & floating candles. This had led to the inception of Gridyy becoming a brand of products with tangible designs.
Keeping the tangible design factor in mind, coasters were then made into multi-layer acrylic laser cut designs. The advantage of such design over print is that unlike print these coasters never get deformed or their designs never wear off. This is because the material itself is the design. Gridyy’s coasters are products that will last much longer than their competitors because of the durability in their design.
